What factor makes the most successful people even more successful?
That's the question I asked myself when I started a four-year project that recently culminated, one of the accomplishments I'm most proud of in my career. The overwhelming answer is the one I've always known:top performers think .
As surprising as it may seem, the thought does not come easily to many people. Most individuals usually do not get the results they want because they are too preoccupied with immediate action. Most people don't stop, step back, and think strategically about what they're doing:they fail to go through the process step by step to gain clarity, improve focus, and ultimately realize. execution.
As an executive strategist, Tony Jeary International aims to help our clients become stronger thinkers. When a CEO or a founder of the company comes to meet us with his entourage, he must be ready to exercise the critical thinking that others will not.
I am a strategy conscious person. For decades, I designed my work around the kind of life I wanted to live with my family. This meant my team and I worked on what I called the Strategic Acceleration Studio , located on my property in North Texas. I could have found office space elsewhere, but to model the importance of intentionality for clients, I worked from this home studio because it allowed me to energetically devote more time to my two girls, teaming up with my wonderful wife.
She and I have always dreamed of raising amazing children, and that is what our daughters have become. Today, our daughters are 26 and 22, and both are successful and happy in their individual careers, with two great men by their side.
But once they left the house, my intention changed. I wanted to model for my clients the possibilities that strategic thinking can create for their business. So I started building the ultimate think tank – the RESULTS Center.
I set the bar high for this new project, imagining a place where the world's most successful people could come with their teams.
The RESULTS center had to be somewhere easily accessible at DFW airport, so we built at an ambitious location that's only an eight-minute trip away in our RESULTS1 sprinter van (a jazzed-up think tank environment in itself). The RESULTS center needed to take advantage of all my research and experience. So we built the Best Practices Library, housing an endless supply of all the books I've written — over 50 of them. The RESULTS center was meant to be a nurturing environment, so we filled the modern, sunny meeting and coaching space with music, a jam board, a health bar, and even a sprawling outdoor lounge designed to squeeze hand and mingle.
The RESULTS center was also, of course, to be a workplace for my hand-picked team, so I supported my staff by incorporating high-end software, office tools and furniture. The team is equipped to respond to customers and be effective in the service of their thinking.
Obviously, I'm proud of this space and believe it will help my clients achieve the best results during our time together. But why am I telling you this? Because after years of honing my methodology for clarity, focus, and execution, How get results faster – I also realized the importance of where.
Simply put:Where matters.
For many businesses, an office is simply a functional place where people can congregate. Many home-based solopreneurs are driven by cost savings and convenience. This lack of attention to the where work hinders our thinking.
You can tell I'm proud of the RESULTS Center itself – the space, the structure. But I'm more proud of what it represents:my intention to bring results to my clients by helping them think at the highest level.
