Top 10 Career Lessons From Power Women

The Nationale-Nederlanden Café in Rotterdam was transformed into the Women in Control Café in September. An inspiring activity program took place here about careers and barriers, finance now &later and reaching your personal peak. How do you do that? Here we have the Top 10 Career Lessons from three power women who gave a talk.

Top 10 Career Lessons
1. Dare to dream and don't be afraid to chase it. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't work. And then?
To discover new oceans you must first lose sight of the shore.

2. Don't do career planning.

3. Dare to give, but don't discount yourself.

4. Winners are losers who never give up. Fall, get up and keep going.

5. Set high goals for yourself. Women tend to be modest and not set too high of goals.
Stimulate yourself and raise the bar 5 more. Bet it will happen?

6. Make a 'not to do list'. Think about your goal and see if everything you do in a day contributes to that big goal. And you skip everything that doesn't contribute.

7. If you feel (unsolicited) advice coming up, ask a question first.

8. Dare to be yourself and dare to show yourself. Seeing yourself through the eyes of others takes a lot of energy and yields nothing.

9. Dress for success:behave and dress according to the position you aspire to. Provide signatures that make you unique. People will stare, better make it worth their while.

10. Dorothee van Vredenburch (NN Group Boardmember) concluded with a nice quote:“Your smile is your logo, yourpersonality is your business card. How you leave others feeling after having an experience with you becomes your trademark.”
