'Nice' women earn less than their more assertive counterparts

The nicer or more pleasant a woman is at work, the lower her salary is likely to be, a new study shows. Dominant, assertive women, who clearly express their expectations and do not back down from their demands, are compensated better than their more compliant female colleagues. According to the researchers, the same is true for dominant men versus more conciliatory male colleagues – but even dominant women earn far less than all their male colleagues, dominant or otherwise.
