Pallet furniture, the trend to follow

At the supermarket, at the local grocer, on construction sites... Impossible to miss! Pallets are everywhere! So why not even invite them to the house? Versatile, they can offer a great cachet to your home sweet home . To your hammers!

The wooden pallet:the different models

Originally, these pallets were used for the transport and storage of goods. But beware, there are several types:

  • Pallets marked with the EUR EPAL logo:they are super-resistant and can support a load of up to 1,500 kg:great for making a bed or a sofa. They are also treated to prevent mould.
  • For smaller projects, there are unmarked pallets, in different sizes:60 cm × 80 cm, 80 cm × 120 cm or 100 cm × 120 cm. Unlike the others, these are not treated, but that does not prevent you from using them for your DIY.

Warning!

If you see pallets with the acronym " MB ", go your way. This means that they are treated with methyl bromide, a product banned in France since 2010.

Where to find pallets to make your own furniture?

Of course, you can supply yourself with pallets on an e-commerce site. But you might as well push the recovery logic to the limit and get pallets for free. So, where to find your nuggets? It's simple, just go:
