How do I get my pension certificates?

How do I get my pension certificates?

All employees or the self-employed can ask to retire on the date of their choice from the moment they have reached the legal age, i.e. 62 years old. The retirement starting point must correspond to the first day of a given month. However, requesting retirement requires a period of instruction for it to be effective. This is why it is recommended to take the corresponding steps between 4 and 6 months before the desired departure date, in particular to provide the necessary supporting documents to your pension fund under the general scheme and to that of your supplementary pension.

Simplified procedures for an online retirement application

In recent years, the procedures for requesting retirement have been greatly simplified. Indeed, each employee and self-employed person has the possibility of creating a personal account on the lassuranceretraite.fr website of the general social security system.

Thanks to this service, a single request on this site is necessary to apply for retirement both from its basic pension scheme, but also from its supplementary pension scheme.

All you have to do in the "Request my retirement" section of your personal space is to enter the desired departure date for retirement and complete an application already pre-filled with all your personalized information according to your professional career.

Depending on your personal situation, you will then be asked for supporting documents that you just need to scan and upload to the Pension Insurance website.

Supporting documents to provide for a pension request by mail

For those who have not opened a personal account on the Retirement Insurance site and who do not wish to, or who are not comfortable with the services to be used online, it is always possible to his request for retirement by post.

The request for retirement must be made using a specific form to be completed, Cerfa n°10916-10 from the National Old Age Insurance Fund (Cnav). This document only allows you to apply for your basic pension.

Once completed, you must send this form, depending on your situation (employee, self-employed, agricultural employee, etc.), to the fund of your basic pension scheme, accompanied by these supporting documents:a photocopy of proof of civil status which may be, depending on the case, an identity card, a passport, a residence permit, a family record book, etc.; a bank account statement (RIB); a photocopy of your last income tax notice or your statement of income tax statement.

Then, depending on your professional situation, specific supporting documents must also accompany your retirement application form. For example, if you have had children, your family booklet; if you are an employee of the general scheme and you have been ill or injured in the last 2 years, you must provide your daily allowance statements issued by your primary health insurance fund for the last 2 years; if you have been declared medically unfit for work, you must enclose a medical certificate available from your pension fund and completed by a doctor; if you have a degree of incapacity of at least 50% for the allowance for disabled adults (AAH), you must provide notification of the award or rejection of the AAH; if you are a veteran , you must send your fighter's card and a statement of information and services; if you are facing a disability or an incapacitating illness, you must attach all documents attesting to your permanent incapacity at least equal to 50% or a handicap comparable level during your career, in particular to perhaps obtain an increase in your pension.

If you apply for your pension by post, you must also, separately, apply to your supplementary pension fund, within the same deadlines as for your basic pension, i.e. within the 6 months before the desired retirement date.

To do this, you must contact a retirement information center General Association of Executive Retirement Institutions – Association for the Supplementary Employee Retirement Scheme (Agirc-Arrco) – called a Cicas – to obtain the application for retirement, which can be sent to you by post. You will then be asked for other supporting documents corresponding to your personal situation.
