How to save screenshots directly to Dropbox

Before we dive into the details, you need to make sure you have the Dropbox app installed on your machine. This trick won't work without it. If you already have the software installed, make sure you're running the latest version.

If you just installed Dropbox, take a screenshot. You should see a message on the screen asking if you want to load future screenshots automatically. Choose Save screenshots to Dropbox.

How to save screenshots directly to Dropbox

If you've already been using Dropbox for a while:

  1. Double-click the Dropbox icon on your taskbar.
  2. Click the gear icon..
  3. Select Preferences from the menu.
  4. Click Import .
  5. Check the checkbox next to Share screenshots using Dropbox .

To turn the feature off again, go to Computer> Preferences> Import and uncheck the box.
