You can manually check who has access to your Google Drive files by doing the following:

  1. Navigate to the file or folder in question, right click and select Share from the menu.
  2. If you've shared it with only one or two people, you'll see their names in the window that appears under People .
  3. If you've shared with more than two people, click their names and the full list will open.

If you want to change a user's permissions or even remove them from the file, you'll want to once again open the Share window and display the list of users using the steps above. Then do one of the following:

  • To change a user's permissions, click the large icon next to their email address that represents their sharing settings. You have three options:they can view, comment, and edit.
  • To completely remove a user, click X next to your email address.
  • Make sure to click the Save button once you've made all your changes or they won't take.

If you've created a public link and shared it with several different people without inviting them via their Gmail address, you can disable that link, but that means everyone will lose access.

To disable link sharing, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the file or folder in question, right click and select Share from the menu.
  2. If you shared it, you should see one of three messages:Anyone with the link can see or Anyone with the link can edit. or Anyone with the link can comment. . To change sharing settings, click the dropdown menu and make a new selection.
  3. If you want to disable link sharing completely, click the dropdown menu and select OFF .
  4. Once you have made your selection, click Done .

By doing this, anyone who previously had access through that generated link will no longer be able to open the file. If you generate a new link, you will once again have to share that link with them.
